Oil and the battle for Norway’s soul – Assignment for Financial Times.

As part of a long time work about the Lofoten archipelago I was fortunate to receive a commission for the Financial Times magazine. For four days I roamed the islands with my Leica M (typ 240) in an attempt to convey the fragile nature under pressure from both human and oil exploration. A story about the battle for Norway’s soul.

Having lived and worked here for the past six years my interest was caught by a correspondent suggesting to live in tents rather than hotels. An intense way of taking in the variations in weather and locations. Admittedly I was slightly worried about my colleague’s tent during a particular cold, wet and windy night. It all went well, and you can see our publication here.
