Limit, av Andreas Bjørseth
«Limit» is a series of photographs shot in Oslo, Norway.
Oslo is a small, but rapidly developing capital. It is in fact the fastest growing city in Europe. Surrounded by the green forest and the blue fjord, Oslo is a city caught in between two natural reserves. These reserves are protected against human intervention, mostly due to the Norwegian culture and love of nature.
This geographic location of Oslo means that the rapid expansion of the city is all but unlimited. In recent years cranes and construction sites has been the face of the city. Now, new buildings and urban lifestyle are growing closer and closer towards the fjord in the south and forest to the north. And while the city steadily approaches the nature, the people of Oslo are watching carefully.
Being so close to nature is a huge part of the Osloians identity. But so are the urban lifestyle and feeling of being a part of a prosperous and developing European city.
These photos try to visualize the Oslo-feeling: a dualistic mentality. Torn between recreational nature and urban prosperity. And nature putting limits to urban growth.
Serien er skutt på analoge Leica MP, med Leica Summilux 35mm ASPH.
