During September 2013 Marcel Pedragosa spent three weeks as an artist in residence at the Halsnøy monastery. In this period of time he developed a new photographic body of work based on portraying the natural heritage of the island. After the making of the images he did a first selection of twenty to edit and create a new series under the title Broader. Used to photograph people in big metropolis at rush hours, Halsnøy unfolded a complete different environment of work for Marcel Pedragosa’s urban background. Far from traffic, noise and stress, these photographs reflect a place beyond a state of mind. Nature, harmony and equilibrium are some of the aspects poetically depicted in Marcel’s work produced into the broader Norwegian landscape.
Only a few weeks ago the Maison de Norvège together with the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre in Paris offered their spaces to install a double exhibition of part of this work. As a result, from the 4th of March to the 30th of April 2014, ten photographs will be on show at the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre. The Maison de Norvège will host this exhibition from the 2nd of May to 30th of June 2014.
